  • New 2026 Nissan X-Trail: Tougher Design, Smarter Technology and Electrified Confidence

    12 March 2026

Grainger Motor Group is excited to introduce the 2026 Nissan X-Trail to customers across its Nissan dealerships, including Norton Way Nissan. The latest evolution of one of the most recognisable electrified family SUVs brings enhanced design, improved technology and greater everyday practicality. With more than 25 years of heritage behind it, the updated X-Trail continues to strengthen its reputation for durability, versatility and confident performance both on and off the road.

This latest model update for spring 2026 introduces a more assertive exterior design, upgraded interior materials and advanced connectivity features that make everyday driving more convenient. Building on the success of Nissan’s electrified SUV range, the refreshed X-Trail continues to offer the practicality and capability families have come to expect while introducing smarter technology and refined comfort.

  • tronger, More Rugged Exterior Design

The 2026 X-Trail adopts a more confident and modern appearance while maintaining its well-known rugged character. A redesigned front end features a wider and cleaner V-Motion grille, giving the SUV a stronger road presence and reinforcing Nissan’s distinctive design identity.

New styling updates include gloss black detailing on the lower bumpers, wheel arch surrounds, mirrors and side sills, which help emphasise the vehicle’s robust stance. Reprofiled bumpers, updated side vents and increased body-colour coverage at the rear deliver a more contemporary finish.

Full-LED rear lighting sharpens the vehicle’s lighting signature, while two new exterior paint options – Sukomo Blue and Coastal Dune – add further visual appeal. Both colours are available with a contrasting two-tone roof.

Stylish diamond-cut alloy wheels complete the refreshed look, with 20-inch alloys fitted as standard on Tekna models.

    Improved Comfort and Interior Quality

Inside the cabin, the X-Trail has been refined with new materials designed to enhance comfort and perceived quality while retaining its practical and durable character.

    Highlights include:

    • Chestnut brown premium quilted leather upholstery

    • Brown wood-effect centre console trim

    • High-quality synthetic leather option

    • Updated interior finishes throughout the cabin

Across the range, customers benefit from comfort-focused features such as heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, three-zone climate control, and a 12.3-inch infotainment display.

The versatile 40/20/40 sliding second row provides flexible seating and cargo arrangements, making it easier to carry passengers, luggage or larger equipment. Higher-grade models also feature a 10-speaker BOSE premium sound system and a heated windscreen, both standard on Tekna.

    Advanced Connectivity and Driver Technology

The latest X-Trail introduces the newest NissanConnect infotainment system with Google built-in, delivering a more intuitive and connected driving experience.

    Drivers can access:

    • Google Assistant voice control

    • Google Play Store apps

    • Real-time navigation and weather information

    • Over-the-air system updates

Natural voice commands allow drivers to adjust vehicle settings such as ventilation, heated seats and windscreen functions, as well as make calls, send messages or navigate to destinations without taking their hands off the wheel.

    Enhanced 3D Around View Monitor

A newly upgraded 3D Around View Monitor provides an enhanced 360-degree perspective around the vehicle at low speeds. Using wide-angle cameras, the system delivers a high-definition bird’s-eye view on the central display and allows drivers to select from eight different camera angles.

These include front, rear, side and corner perspectives, helping drivers spot potential obstacles that may otherwise go unnoticed.

Two additional visibility features improve confidence in challenging environments:

    • Invisible Hood View – uses camera imaging to show where the front wheels are positioned as though the bonnet were transparent, helping drivers avoid kerbs or rocks.

    • T-Junction View – provides a wider forward view when pulling out of concealed junctions or areas with limited visibility.

The system works alongside moving object detection, alerting drivers to nearby motion when manoeuvring at low speeds.

    Improved ProPILOT Assist

Updates to ProPILOT Assist provide smoother and more natural driving support. Enhancements include improved traffic sign recognition, anticipated speed limit adjustments and better environmental awareness.

The system also delivers more stable lane keeping, particularly on narrow roads, along with smoother acceleration and braking responses for a more relaxed driving experience.

    Electrified Performance with e-POWER

The 2026 X-Trail continues to feature Nissan’s innovative e-POWER technology, already trusted by more than 285,000 customers across the UK and Europe and also available in the popular Qashqai.

Unlike conventional hybrids, e-POWER uses a petrol engine to generate electricity while the wheels are driven purely by an electric motor. This delivers:

    • Instant torque and smooth acceleration

    • Quiet, EV-like driving refinement

    • No need for external charging

For additional capability, the system can be paired with e-4ORCE all-wheel drive, providing enhanced grip, stability and confidence across a wide range of road and weather conditions.

    Rugged N-Trek Model Returns

Designed for drivers with an adventurous lifestyle, the N-Trek grade returns with bolder styling and more durable interior materials.

Distinctive exterior and interior features include:

    • Magma red styling accents on bumper inserts and interior stitching

    • Black and red Nissan logos on wheels, grille and tailgate

    • Exclusive N-Trek badging

    • 19-inch N-Trek alloy wheels

    • Black roof rails and robust bumper finishes

A subtle Mount Fuji ‘easter egg’ detail in magma red can also be found in the boot, adding a unique touch to the model’s design.

Inside, N-Trek models feature CellCloth® waterproof upholstery, designed to repel water and protect against muddy outdoor gear. Practical additions such as waterproof rubber floor mats and a reversible cargo liner further enhance the vehicle’s suitability for active family lifestyles.

An electric panoramic sunroof is also included, helping to brighten the cabin and create a more open interior environment.
