Nissan LEAF takes the top spot in Auto Express EV rankings
Nissan has reaffirmed its position at the forefront of electric driving, with three of its electric models featuring in Auto Express’s comprehensive ranking of all 161 electric cars currently on sale in the UK.
Leading the way is the all-new Nissan LEAF, which was ranked #1 overall, while the all-electric Nissan MICRA secured an impressive 15th place and the Nissan ARIYA featured at #69.
#1 Nissan LEAF
Fresh from being crowned the 2026 Auto Express Car of the Year, the third-generation Nissan LEAF has now taken the number one spot out of 161 electric vehicles.
Built here in Britain, the new LEAF represents a dramatic evolution of the iconic EV. Its sleek new fastback design is paired with a modern, user-friendly interior featuring built-in Google technology, while a driving range of up to 386 miles makes it a compelling choice for everyday journeys and longer adventures alike.

#15 Nissan MICRA
The all-new electric Nissan MICRA also made an impressive entrance into the rankings, securing 15th place overall.
Combining distinctive styling with an engaging driving experience, advanced interior technology and a choice of battery options, the new MICRA brings Nissan's electric technology to the compact car segment.
Auto Express highlighted its excellent value, technology and enjoyable driving experience, describing the MICRA as a superb electric supermini.
#69 Nissan ARIYA
Completing Nissan's strong performance is the Nissan ARIYA, which ranked 69th overall.
A previous Auto Express Car of the Year winner, the ARIYA continues to impress with its sleek crossover styling, premium cabin and high-quality interior. Recent pricing changes have also strengthened its value proposition within the competitive electric SUV market.
With the LEAF taking the number one spot, the MICRA breaking into the top 20 and the ARIYA continuing to earn recognition, there's plenty to be excited about across Nissan's growing electric range.
