• Graingers return to Honda, Nissan, Mazda with three Norton Way dealership deal

  Fast-growing Grainger Motor Group has acquired Norton Way Honda, Nissan and Mazda in Letchworth.

  The deal marks a return to the Honda, Nissan and Mazda dealer network for the business’ founders - joint managing directors Harry and Neal Grainger - who had a successful track record with the brands when they held executive positions at Norton Way.

  The AM100 dealership group’s footprint now extends to 19 locations representing Kia, BYD, Mazda, MG, Honda and Nissan across Hertfordshire and East Anglia, with the latest acquisition adding a further 100 colleagues, bringing total staff levels to 550.

  The business said that these new dealerships are especially significant to Grainger Motor Group, with Harry and Neal Grainger having both launched their motor trade careers at Norton Way - a business originally founded in 1989 by their father, David Grainger.

  “We look forward to welcoming all colleagues at these dealerships into the Grainger Motor Group family and remain fully committed to delivering an exceptional experience for all our customers,” stated the business.

  The group was launched with the acquisition of Mantles Kia Royston in January 2023 five months after the Grainger brothers left their positions as operations director and finance director at Norton Way Group which was acquired by Marubeni Auto Investment in 2008. 

  The purchase of the £116m turnover East Anglian dealer group EMG Anglia in early 2024 helped Grainger Motor Group to break through the threshold of the AM100 rankings of the UK's largest franchised motor retailers.

  Its impressive financial growth, exceptional customer service and industry-leading approach to electric vehicle sales and service plans earned the group the title of winner in the Franchised Dealership of the Year category in last year’s AM Awards.

  The business said Norton Way Honda, Nissan and Mazda will continue to trade under the Norton Way name and operate as part of Mantles Group within Grainger Motor Group.
